From the Director’s Desk – December 2011
-
Hello to you all!
Wow, hard to believe it’s December! Thankfully we’ve had good weather, although I know some will be anxious for snow. I hope you are all doing well! I will quickly take the opportunity to introduce you to the new eConnect! Hopefully you will love the new format, and feel like contributing! You may send book reviews, CD reviews, thoughts about camp, or other ideas to Tom, Mark or Steve! If you’d like to recieve this newsletter, you can subscribe here.
Before we get on to other things, I must remind everyone that Feb. 15 is the deadline to apply for camp and receive the FOCC scholarship!!! Have you called your friends, filled out your forms, and sent in your money? It only takes a $50.00 deposit to reserve your scholarship, but it must be done by Feb. 15!
As we begin the month of December, there are lots of things to think about. Christmas is a time for us to celebrate how God forever altered the future of the universe by sending His Son, Jesus Christ. Can you imagine!? God came to earth, and paid the penalty for our sins? GOD did this. He wants us to be part of His family that much! God’s selfless gift is one of the reasons that many organizations strive to do good in the month of December, in celebration of Christmas. Perhaps it’s time for you to find your place? What change would you like to see in the world? When I was at the University of Ottawa a couple of years ago I was so impressed by the young students there; most had picked a “cause” that fired them up to “make a difference.” Perhaps this December, in the name of Jesus Christ, who made the ultimate difference, you can find your passion. WE can’t change the world in a day, but we can make a difference. Where can you make a difference!?
Lots of love to you all this December,
Dennis & Lynn Lawrence
