Rob’s Book Review – December 2011

  • Craig Groeschel – The Christian Atheist

One of the biggest problems today in Christianity are Sunday Christians: people who call themselves Christian because they go to church or to a small group or pray a lot, but really aren’t living out their faith. These folks are what Craig Groeschel calls “Christian Atheists”: Christians who act and live like they are atheists. This book is helpful for people who are struggling with what it means to be a Christian, and even Christians who feel like they have it all together. Groeschel deals with issues which often go unspoken or might be seen as a sign of great “free-thinking” or spiritualism. He reminds us of the bar that Christ and the early church set, and asks us to take an honest look at ourselves and see where we line up. Are we “Christian Atheists”? This book is a great tool for strong believers, weak believers, and non-believers alike
