Scuba Says: Sept/Oct 2011

  • Hi everyone. Thank you for your patience. I had a major computer crash that wiped out my template for eConnect. However, it looks like we are back on track with the old template and we have a new template planned for our November issue. The past two months have been very busy. Lynn and the Toronto group have been busy putting together our amazing annual volleyball weekend. We hope to be able to see you for both days on November 5/6. If you can’t come for both days, or play in the tournament please drop in and say hi to everyone. We love to see past, present and future campers and staff members. Last weekend (Oct. 22/23) we had a great time at Jean Leprohon’s place in Montreal. Many of the Camp Connections staff, and a few Friends of Camp Connections (FOCC) members spent this time planning for future fund raisers, marketing and strategic planning for Camp Connections. We have some exciting plans for the future of camp.

Please keep in touch via our social media connections. Links can be found on https://www.facebook.com/campconnections and our Camp Connections web site. New videos, photos, posters and updates will be added each week. We even have twitter for those of you who tweet. Thank you so much to Jean for your hospitality. Thanks also to Mark, Liz, Greg, Ingrid, Rob, Karl, and Tom for your presentations and valued input. A huge thanks to Lynn and Dennis who chaired the meeting and continue to lead us into the future. Your vision a dozen or so years ago has produced so much fruit.

    Thank you both! Scuba

About The Author

"Scuba" Steve Symonds is an important member of our camp team. Involved in work at camps since the early 1970s, Stephen brings an important message of recovery and hope in Jesus Christ. As a young man going through a very difficult period of his life, God reminded Stephen of some simple messages he had heard at camp: the beautiful truths of John 3:16, and its lyrical counterpart, "Jesus Loves Me." As a result, Stephen is deeply aware of the potential impact of a week at camp: even if that impact comes many years later. Stephen has a great love of learning, a special interest in astronomy, and an impressive ability in waterskiing. He is also one of our resident photographers and "techies"!
